Denver Weekend Events – November 6-8, 2015

Hey friends! I can’t believe it’s already Friday! I feel like this week creeped up on me so quickly. I always feel like Weekends come around so quickly now a days and I often times find myself unprepared for the weekend. I don’t know about you guys, but I like to have somewhat of a “loose” plan when it comes to the weekend, meaning that I can spend time to connect with my husband, sleep in, spend lazy afternoons in the park with our dog, but still have plans to have look forward to and round out our weekends. I’ve always been a planner and like to know what is going on in the city for the upcoming weekend. What I have found to be more consistent than not, is the ability to shock our friends with the events and fun things that we find and attend. So I figure, why not share that information with all my Denver peeps? Going forward, I will publish a list of fun things to do in the Mile High Area. I will curate a well-rounded list for everyone; foodies, sports fans, fashionistas, and families. Hope it helps bring some joy, sparkle and fun to your weekends!

Friday, November 6:

Denver Art Walk: This is one of my consistent favorite things to do on the first Friday of each month. There are multiple throughout the city and I recommend Santa Fe, RiNo, Tennyson and Cherry Creek. They each have their own websites to get deets. Go early, have some drinks/food and support the Denver art scene.

Denver Ski & Snowboard Expo: Woohoo! It’s ski season! Check out this fun expo that lasts all weekend! Here is the link to get all the details:

Colorado Avalanche vs. New York Rangers: My mom is Canadian so I had no other option than to love hockey. Lucky for me, my husband loves it as well! Go watch our boys at Pepsi Center this evening at 7 pm! Prices are still at a good price (low $30’s) and grab some happy hour near by (Hapa Sushi is one of my favs for pre-game fun) before the game.

Lion King: This amazing musical is making it’s stop in Denver and I couldn’t be more excited for it! I’m hoping between planning for upcoming trips and holiday fun that we can find a way to go! We have until November 4-29. Get your tickets on Stub Hub!

Denver Film Festival: This fun, two-week event (Nov 4-15) has many opportunities to catch new films, check out the arts and hit up some fun parties. There is something for everyone, on every kind of budget! Check out their website for details:

Denver Arts Week: Another fun week long event (Nov 6-14) that has plenty to offer for families and art lovers, including free museum days and nights! Check out to get all the details to plan your Art Week events.

Beginner Tango Classes @ Mercury Café: Head on over to Mercury Café for a fun date night to learn how to tango! Classes are only $10 and start at 9:30! Check out their website or call to make sure classes are being held that evening. Also, they offer all sorts of dance lessons on other nights of the week if you want to broaden your dance repertoire.

Colorado Ballet Nutcracker Market 2015: Head on over to Skyline Park off 16th Street Mall to check out this fun upscale artisan market to shop for cute Christmas things, take in a drink or two and support the Colorado Ballet. Growing up a dancer, I understand the importance of supporting the arts! The event will take place November 5-8 (all weekend!) and here is the link to for more details

Saturday, November 7:

9th Annual All Colorado Beer Fest: Head on over to Colorado Springs for a fun, filled day full of BEER! For tickets, head on over to Remember to always have a designated driver if you plan to return to the Denver area and have fun!

Deck the Mall: Head over to the 16th Street Mall with some friends or your family to check out this fun outdoor mall to get into the holiday spirit! This free event will also have hot cocoa and live entertainment to accompany your shopping!

Denver Bacon & Beer Brewers Dinner: Talk about the perfect food/drink marriage between beer and bacon! Head on over to The Lobby for a truly unique food and beverage pairing experience, featuring some of the best chefs in Denver with some amazing beer. Talk about a great way to get a buzz and a full tummy! Tickets can be found here

Denver Art Museum and Night at the Museum: Free, fun and taking in the arts? What is there not to love? Head down to Denver Art Museum to explore it’s beautiful art exhibitions and stay through the day in to evening for Night at the Museum! Grab a friend, significant other or treat yourself to a wine (or two) and take in some fabulous art!

In fact, all Museums are offering free fun Saturday! There is even a shuttle to drive you to all the fun!

Sunday, November 8:

Watch Broncos vs. Colts: Watch our boys play against the Colt’s this Sunday at 2:25 (Mountain time) at your favorite bar or at my favs listed below:

Govnr’s Park Tavern in Cap Hill for a great pitcher/pizza combo –  be sure to make reservations

Tavern Downtown: Kinda obvious, but hey, it’s walking distance to my apartment, fun, with tons of seating and a ton of TV’s to take in more sports!

Interstate Kitchen and Bar: From amazing drinks (hello, slushies?!) to tasty food, this is more than just a sports bar with pub food. Take in the game and be satisfied with great food and tasty drinks.

Pearl Street Farmers Market: From 9-1, head over to Pearl Street for some shopping to pick up yummy foods, flowers or whatever else tickles your fancy. This is the second to last farmers market of the year so be sure head over early and enjoy yourself

Brunch with friends: This is kind of a um, hello, Captain Obvious for those of you who love enjoying the Colorado weather with friends and a boozy brunch. Below are my favorites!

Zengo: I love this place because of their service, food, drinks and the close proximity to where I live. The pricing is fair because you get a TON of delicious food and the drinks are great as well! We recommend listening to your server when they ask if they should just send out the favorites, just say “yes!” You won’t be disappointed, walk away with a full belly, drank your monies worth and in need of a siesta.

Bistro Vendome: This Larimer Square gem will transport you back to Paris in a instant. The food is top notch and I highly recommend this place for all meals of the day. Everything for brunch is amazing and if you go for dinner, the moules, any kind of steak, and french onion soup is my fav!

I hope these ideas help plan out your weekends! Also, as we are gearing up for winter, the some slopes are open as well! Please send over any additional fun events that I may have left out, I love checking out new things here in Denver!
