It’s been unseasonably warm here in Denver. Like, I’m talking high 70’s – 80’s. Not that I’m complaining about this Indian summer we’re getting this fall….there is a part of me that loves the cool crisp air that comes along with the fall season. I want to be able to enjoy my pumpkin flavored caffeinated beverages without breaking a sweat. Not to mention, I have recently purged like 4 trash bags worth of old summer/spring clothes and was so excited to wear all my new fall purchases.
Since the weather here in Denver is unpredictable and next week can be frozen over for all I know (or remain hot as Haiti), I wanted to sneakily find a way to pull on some boots and layer up. And since this past Saturday was no different with another 80 degree day in the Denver metro, both Josh and I were ready to escape to the mountains for some cooler weather. So naturally, we headed up to Breckenridge for the day…
And to be honest, a part of me was just so excited to be able to wear this Target faux fur poncho that I bought earlier that day. Sadly this purchase almost didn’t happen but luckily (err..well…not really lucky) an incident brought us to Target under not so good circumstances…
(I mean, how cute is this Target faux fur poncho that I scored for under $40?! Hearts for eyes, am I right?!)

You see, I woke up with the craziest craving for bagels and needed one STAT! So as we were casually walking out of the bagel shop, with bagels and to-go coffee in tow, a car came out of nowhere!! It startled me to death! And as I lunged out of the way (ok a step back..), my piping hot coffee, came pouring out of the cup and burned the spot on my hand between my thumb and index finger. And it hurt like hell. However, I was trying to tough it out to make it to Wash Park for our morning walk but the burn was just so damn painful!!! (Like seriously, that ish was bubbling over…)
So Josh kept insisting we go get some burn relief gel and I kept insisting that I was “fine”. Josh being the insightful husband that he is, knew the “fine” was actually a desperate plea for “yes please”, drove us straight to Target. And since Target is the Happiest Place of Earth, I casually strolled by the women’s clothing section after the pharmacy to hopefully find me something. I mean, I…the victim, needed a treat to cheer herself up, right? A little melodramatic? Yes, maybe….but it lead me to my favorite purchase this fall!!!
Low and behold, I spotted this Target faux fur poncho and knew I had to have it…
And isn’t this Target faux fur poncho just perfect!?! It’s so cute, versatile, and being the girlie-girl that I am, I absolutely fell for the faux fur trim! I immediately paired it with black leggings and a black criss cross V neck tunic. Since my hair wasn’t looking tip-top, I threw on my fave white, faux fur beanie and loved how much it matched.
Ins’t it funny how the smallest things get you so excited?!!
Not to mention… I’m so excited to see how many other ways I can pair up this poncho with other colors, prints, and styles! I mean, how cute would this poncho look with red, royal blue, purple… Omg…my head is spinning with all the options!!&#!!!!
My heart is happy and content after a day in the mountains, with cooler weather appropriate for wearing my cute fall outfits. I’m happy as we go into this week (even though it’s already Wednesday!!) as we’re expected to get cooler weather… FINALLY!
With that said, get excited to see more fall fashion gracing TTB!!
Piggybacking on the above statement… I’ve been wanting to diversify TTB a little bit by adding in more of my passions, such as fashion, food and lifestyle. Don’t get me wrong, travel is still my bread and butter, but I’m about to enter a life changing role (cannot WAIT to share more on that with y’all) and want to round out TTB with all the topics that make my heart happy!
I appreciate you coming by and giving my little corner of the world some love and attention. It’s always nice to know that I’m not just writing for myself and my mom (hi mom!!!) As I am rounding out TTB to be more of a lifestyle blog, I’d love to hear your feedback about what you guys would like to see more on blogs!! Thank you coming by and can’t wait to see y’all again!
