Pup Presents: How to Create the Perfect Holiday Stocking

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of The J.M. Smucker Company. The opinions and text are all mine.

There is nothing I love more than spoiling my loved ones during the holiday season! I love coming up with fun and unique gift ideas, especially when it comes to Phoebe. Creating fun gift ideas for dogs is so much fun and Phoebe deserves the very best each holiday season. For the past five holiday seasons, I’ve created fun little pup presents along the way, and this year is no exception. So with the help of my neighborhood Walmart, I came up with my most creative pup present yet: a stocking filled with her favorite toys and treats!

I have absolutely enjoyed putting together my pup present for Phoebe this holiday season. I’m so excited to share my fun how-to on how to recreate this doggie stocking for all your pups this year!

Meet Phoebe

We got our sweet Phoebe five years ago this December. Josh and I had just moved into our first apartment together and between new furniture and deposits, we were basically broke. But while we were out and about, we spotted the sweetest little Shiba Inu – a pup we have always wanted. It was like we locked eyes with her and just knew, we had to have her in our family.

So Josh and I asked if we could spend time with her to see if we’d be a good fit. We have met with tons of other Shibas before but none were as good of a fit as Phoebe. She just crawled into our laps and cuddled up. It was as if she had also chosen us to be her family.

Ever since that day, she was the greatest little Christmas gift for our little family. She has been with us on countless trips and adventures. Stayed by my side when my pregnancy got rough. And has been the sweetest big sister to little Cam. So this holiday season, I just knew I had to put together a pup present with all her favorite treats from Pup-Peroni and Milk Bone!

How to create pup presents your dog will love!

The best way to Phoebe’s heart is by giving her treats. During my latest trip to Walmart, I just knew I had to stock up on them for the holidays. She is obsessed with both Pup-Peroni Original Beef Flavor and Milk Bone Flavor Snacks, so I knew I had to use them in her stocking.

Phoebe has always loved Pup-Peroni treats ever since we used them as training treats when she was a puppy. She loves the original beef flavor and I love it too because real beef is the #1 ingredient. So with more real beef (than its competitors!) and its mouthwatering aroma, it’s no wonder why Pheebs loves them.

Another treat our dog loves are her flavored Milk-Bones! The Milk-Bone Flavor Snacks have the same teeth cleaning and vitamin-enriched goodness as their Original biscuits. They come in five delicious flavors and are perfect for dogs of all sizes! I love treating Phoebe with her flavored Milk-Bones to show my appreciation of her love.

How to recreate this pup stocking

Items needed:

  • Stocking
  • Milk-Bone: original or flavored
  • Pup-Peroni
  • 2-3 toys
  • Plastic containers or bags for treats

  1. Place two toys at the bottom of her stocking. Ideas balls and squeaky toys.
  2. I repurposed plastic containers that once had mini bows in them. They were the perfect size to store the treats and keep them fresh. Their cylinder shape and size were great for holding both treats. I put about 7-10 treats in each.
  3. I taped the tops to secure the treats and placed a bow on top of each. Place in stocking.
  4. Stick another toy out of the top, like a rope toy.

Give to pup!
