A Little Place Called Aspen…

aspen colorado

“Some place warm, a place where the beer flows like wine, where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. I’m talking about a little place called Aspen.”

“I don’t know Lloyd, the French are assholes…”

We all know the famous Dumb and Dumber quotes that put Aspen on the map. If you didn’t know about this beautiful, affluent mountain town before, you know it now thanks to this classic movie. I had never been to Aspen before moving to Denver, mainly before it’s expensive AF. Luckily, since moving to the Mile High, it helps make weekend getaways to this beautiful town (somewhat) affordable.

A little place called Aspen…

On our most recent trip to Aspen this past weekend, we knew we were kinda limited on what we could do. Especially with me being six months pregnant and all…

We knew we wanted to stop by the infamous Maroon Bells to take some pictures, because hello, #bloggervibes. What we didn’t know, was that the main road up to the Bells would be closed 6 miles up due to Winter.

{The road up to the Maroon Bells is closed in the winter. You can hike on this road in the winter and it’s 12 mile round trip to make it to the lake}

We weren’t going to start hiking up there either since it was freezing cold. So instead, we decided to explore the magical establishment positioned right where the road closes. And I’m so glad we did…

T-Lazy-7 Ranch in Aspen

T-Lazy-7 Ranch is nothing short of amazingness. Pure, Colorado, mountain town amazingness.

There is a collection of cabins, variety of activities (such as horseback riding, snowmobiling, cross country skiing), an adorable petting zoo complete with goats, and a market selling fresh eggs from their chickens. It’s cute, charming and picturesque to say the least.

As if you need to be sold any further, the views are incredible. You can see the Maroon Bells in the distance and are completely surrounded by snowcapped pine trees.

It’s freaking majestic.

So the next time you’re in Aspen, I highly recommend stopping by T-Lazy-7. You won’t be dissappointed….

Get ready for a winter wonderland overload….

Winter wonderland! It looks stunning, and really cold. It’s like the perfect setting to be in a cabin in… like you look out the window with a hot chocolate in hand and there’s that beautiful winter scene. PS: your dog is so cute!

  • Everything looks so fairy tale like. It is like you are lost in the woods trying to come back to reality. Last week, we received heavy snow here in Southern California. I imagine Colorado has been getting a decent amount too. Ohh, and that quote from Dumb and Dumber, so funny! #FlyAwayFriday

  • Stacey Sandlin Veikalas

  • When I lived in Denver I unfortunately never made it to Aspen because of the cost, but I’m glad you found the opportunity to visit. After seeing the beautiful scenery, it’s easy to see why Aspen is pricey and a much-coveted destination!

Aspen looks simply magical. I have yet to get out to Colorado, but it was just in Queenstown New Zealand which they nickname the Aspen of the South Pacific. The shots in the snow are beautiful and look just like a fairyland. #flyawayfriday
